Munchen Tag Funf

Today we met up with one of Pat's friends (Carmella) from many years ago. She is currently living in London, with her boyfriend Rik. They flew into Munich to see us while we were here. While we were waiting for them to arrive and get setup in their hotel this morning, we spent a little bit of time in the Deutsches Museum. We barely scratched the surface of the museum, but we did get to see the U1 submarine, the great ship exhibit, and some of the machinery exhibit. We also went through the mining exhibit. It is interesting in that it is created in a way that you feel, and it looks like, you are in mine shafts and tunnels the entire time. They show old and new mining tools and techniques for different types of ore, salt and coal mining. Some day when we have several days to spend we would like to come back to this museum.

ME163 and ME262

Carmella called us while we were in the museum so we left and met up with them in the Viktualien market by the May pole. We decided to get out of the cold and go into the Ratskeller restaurant which is under the New Rathaus in Marienplatz. We got caught up some and had a bit to eat, and then we decided to head over to the Hoffbrau house for a Mass bear. Genau!

We then took the U-Bahn back to our apartment so they could see where we are hanging out. We all had some good coffee and pastries and visited. It was a very nice day.
